- Account Information: When you sign in with Apple, we collect your Apple ID and email address (if provided).
- Reading Data: Your book reading progress, bookmarks, and highlights are stored locally on your device. Cross-device synchronization is not currently available.
- Usage Data: Information about how you use the app, including which features you access and how often.
- Purchase Information: Transaction data for in-app purchases and subscriptions, processed securely through Apple's App Store.
- Content: Books you upload (PDF, EPUB) or access from our library, and any processing requests you make (translations, level adjustments, explanations, searches).
- AI Interactions: Content you send to our AI chatbot (Readie) and shortcuts you create, including selected text, full pages, or custom inputs.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide book processing services: full-book translation, difficulty level adjustment, content search and highlighting, and explanation generation with highlights
- Power our AI chatbot (Readie) with agentic capabilities that can automatically access your entire book content or use manually added context
- Process shortcuts you create, sending selected content (full pages, selected text, or custom inputs) to AI services
- Process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions
- Send you notifications about job completion and app updates
- Ensure app security and prevent fraud
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers located in the EU (eu-north-1 region), ensuring compliance with GDPR requirements for EU users. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest
- Secure authentication via AWS Cognito
- Regular security audits and updates
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use AWS for cloud infrastructure and OpenAI for AI-powered features. These providers are bound by strict data protection agreements.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
Third-Party Services
Our app integrates with the following third-party services:
- Apple: For authentication (Sign in with Apple) and in-app purchases
- AWS: For cloud storage and backend services
- OpenAI: For AI-powered translation and explanation features

Your Rights

- Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Profile settings

Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time:
- Open the ReadiePeasy app
- Go to Profile
- Tap "Delete Account"
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your user account and profile information
- All your books, reading progress, and highlights
- Your account from AWS Cognito
Note: Transaction records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes, but are anonymized and cannot be linked to your account.
Children's Privacy
Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
